Honoring Satan
There are many ways to Honor Lord Satan, but I believe we all share similar virtues in our devotion. The virtues below are for anyone seeking to connect with Satan, whether they are a complete beginner or an experienced devotee who feels off-balance. If you are in need of specialized guidance or support, I highly recommend booking a reading with me for one-on-one assistance. The purpose of Satan's Guidance Reading is to align the devotee with these virtues and give them tools to grow with Satan in their own way.
The key virtues are curiosity, dedication & commitment, loyalty, trust, and service. Keep reading to learn how these virtues are applied to devotional praxis. Take some time to reflect upon each virtue. If you haven't yet met Satan, read until the end to access a method to encourage your first encounter.

Dedication and Commitment
Loyalty
Trust
Whether you are meeting Satan for the first time, or have been devoted for many years, it is important to remember that Satan is a deity of infinite mystery. There is always more to learn about Satan and His many faces and names. We may enter this path with one idea of Satan, but as time goes on, we will be challenged to see Him/Her/Them in different forms. Some key archetypes of the Adversary include: the trickster, challenger, dissenter, liberator, and scapegoat. The guises for each of these archetypes change based on culture, time period, artistic sensibilities, political agendas, and so on. Unsurprisingly, not every depiction of Satan is representative of the god Who loves us. Most descriptions of Satan come from His enemies, but as the "Father of Lies," He holds forbidden truths. As a rebel, He challenges oppressive traditions.
When we as devotees engage with Satan-hating material, we learn to literally be devil's advocates. Seen with the Serpent's Eye, even the most egregious lies about our god reveal sacred truths. This is the incorruptibility of the Corrupted One. An (alleged) inherently impure god cannot be tainted. My personal favorite avenue for exploring what the enemy believes about Satan is "satanic panic" material - especially movies. Ricky 6 is perhaps one of my favorites. (Despite the film twisting and exploiting the tragic events of a real story.) Even though it is christian propaganda meant to scare people away from Satanism and Paganism, this movie couldn't completely avoid depicting lesser-known positive interpretations of Satanic devotion and philosophy. Though I must admit, some scenes are downright goofy. (If you're open to something very different and silly, I highly recommend watching Evil Speak.)
A fun exercise I like to use for active devotional meditation is allowing Satan to guide me to a piece of media and interpreting it together. This can be music, literature, religious texts, film, poetry, and so on. Sometimes this material is very anti-Satan, other times it is not so clear. Sometimes the material may or may not have intended it, but can be interpreted as praising Satan, or the Black Flame. Material that explicitly honors Satan can still misalign with one's personal view of Him and be useful to examine. Try this out for yourself by saying a prayer to Satan, lighting a black candle in His honor, and asking Him to read/listen/etc. with you. Keep an open mind, and be aware of any messages Satan has for you, or when the flame displays any unusual or significant behavior. When you're finished exploring the material or the candle has burned down, write down your observations in your journal. Should you revisit that material some time later, it is useful to compare how your interpretations and understanding of Satan's wisdom has grown with you. I often find that Satan meant many things in very simple statements; the complex meanings of which unfold over time.
One of the best places to learn about Satan is in nature. Observing the plants, animals, stars, and wind can reveal some of Satan's greatest mysteries. If you practice Witchcraft, you are already familiar with some languages of the natural world. Listen for Satan's whispers; His roars. Walk in a dark forest or graveyard and feel His presence behind you, beside you, all around you.
This dark gnosis unfolds as you develop on this path, but you must remain mentally flexible enough to receive it. This is more difficult than it sounds, as many of us are stubborn (myself included) and may want to hold tight to what we know, fearing we will lose it if we let more in. Satan has assured me, and so I will assure you, we can only stand to gain from this. See the other virtues below to forge the stability you are seeking.
Making time for Satan is essential to have a connection with Him. In the beginning of our practice, this is very easy because Satan is not only new and exciting to us, but every time we pray to Him, we receive revelations and insight. We become infatuated with the knowledge, wisdom, power, and catharsis - as we should! Satan as Teacher (and for some, Father) is very directly interactive with us at this time. This is appropriate, as we need His guidance and there is much of which He must teach His initiates. Our enthusiasm to learn at this stage fuels our dedication, and we may find it easy to formally pray at least twice a day, and we are consuming information from books and podcasts very quickly; trying to learn everything we can about Satan. This is our initial dedication. It is important that you keep records of this experience, as they will help you through tough times, and our Dark Lord does not like to repeat Himself.
As time goes on, life can demand a lot of us. We may fall out of routine and as we try to get back in, we may feel discouraged that the energy is not as intense as it was at the start. This is something that can happen on any path, because it has more to do with the practitioner than the deity. This is where commitment comes in. We must make time for Satan and our practice, and do so deliberately. Considering many of us reading this live in a culture that is constantly grabbing at our time, this is something we must defend. Perhaps twice a day in formal prayer at the altar is not realistic for you, but you are able to get some alone time on your lunch break to say a prayer before eating. Or you can listen to a devotional playlist during your commute to work or school. Modern problems require modern solutions. Commitment not only maintains our connection to Satan, but strengthens it over time.
How do we keep our dedication from fading and our commitment from faltering? The two go hand-in-hand, and are kept alive with inspiration and love. I love to look back at the early artwork and prose that poured out of me in my beginning stages of my work with Satan and the Daemons. Revisiting those journal entries you write early on helps you remember personal Satanic mysteries and get inspired. Do not expect your practice to be the same as it was when you began. You can only meet Satan for the first time once, after all, which is more than most anyone else! If your encounters with Satan are less dramatic, that is a good thing. It means you are stronger and better acclimated than before. In the beginning we are filled with fervor and a zealous desire to give everything we have to Satan. If it is truly He, Satan will tell you He cannot take what is yours, only show it to you and help you reclaim it. Satan has taught me that honoring my Self honors Him, and groveling before Him degrades the Self. Therefore, submissive gestures we might have used at the start of our devotion (bowing, kneeling, veiling*) may not be appropriate moving forward. (*These gestures are of course very personal to each who use them. They are not necessarily submissive in context, rather just examples of what learned submission can look like.) Choosing celebratory gestures of worship has always been useful to me. Some examples of celebratory gestures in my own practice include ecstatic dance, fervent singing, meditative breathwork like Qliphothic breathing, and giving offerings.
We keep our dedication and commitment alive by being curious and accepting that this path must evolve to grow with us. Satan is a part of you always, and sometimes we are simply taking that fact for granted. Look around you and see Him everywhere. In summary, our dedication is our enthusiasm to put in effort, and our commitment is our effort to remain consistent.

Virtues of Devotion
There is a bizarre thought- terminating cliché in the occult world, "you have to work with both hands," referring to the Left- and Right-Hand Paths. (What a clever analogy to show one has zero understanding that we're talking about paths going in opposite directions, not hands on the same body! While we're spewing analogies, here's one: Sitting on a fence will split your ass in two.) This "two-handed" analogy is almost always brought up to justify working with angels and Daemons simultaneously. I'm not here to argue everyone's choices, but I can say confidently that some choices are disrespectful to Satan. Playing both sides does not make someone wise or "balanced." Although I and many others refer to the Satanic current as a "dark" path, there is much light to be found here through Satan as well as darkness. Balance and all of its contradictions are represented thoroughly through the Baphomet. (Even though we've heard a hundred times how the Baphomet is "not satanic," and that is somewhat true. Yet we all know that the vast majority of people who work with this symbol are, in fact, Satanists.) There is no excuse to run back and forth between Satan and those who oppose Him. If we are to accept the Mark, we are pledging allegiance to what it represents. We cut all ties to what kept Satan away from us. Not all of us are monotheistic, but we should consider our personal pantheons and whether they promote loyalty to Lord Satan.
Allegiance to Satan includes your daily life. When you become aware, there are so many ways in which society normalizes abrahamic (mainly christian) abuses. Racist dichotomies labelling dark-colored or black things as "evil," assuming the feminine is weaker and more passive than the masculine, threatening the bodily autonomy of others, and so on. There are many phrases that undermine the human spirit which praise the christian parody of g*d, spoken even by non-christians! "So and so needs J*sus," "G*d bless you," and even making the sign of the cross over people "as a joke," are all petty, but frequent examples of what sociologists and social psychologists call micro-aggressions. Meaning on that said or done once on their own, they do not have much impact. However, if you are someone who goes against a particular norm, or are otherwise marginalized, you likely experience multiple frequent micro-aggressions each day, resulting in compounded stress over time. This is how oppressive systems wage consistent psychological warfare, all the while getting to call the targeted person or people "overly-sensitive." When we choose loyalty to Satan, we are going to notice more of these tactics all around us, and it is crucial that we know how we want to respond. There are some environments where it may not be physically safe to verbally take a stand, but once can be creative with one's methods of subversion. This does not necessarily have to always assert Satan, but simply challenging the unjust authority of christian supremacy. This benefits everyone, not just Satanists.
Loyalty to Satan is not always easy, but if you never betray Satan, things will turn out much better for you in the end. It is difficult to be the odd one out, but if you are serious about this path, there's a good chance you already know what that feels like. Choosing our words and actions carefully is important. Some Satanists have taken oaths to never set foot in a christian church, which can cause conflict when a family member's funeral or wedding service is held in one. That is an example of the sacrifices we make to walk this path. Be sure before you make promises to Satan, as you will be expected to follow through.
Under the Trident of Will, the third prong reads, One honors the Will of Satan through integrity, growth, and trust in Satan's love. To understand this, we must understand that Satan perceives things differently than you and I. We exist on a three-dimensional plane and perceive it through the constructs of time and space. Without time, we would experience everything all at once. Satan is beyond time, so He sees us not as we see ourselves. We can only see ourselves from the past to the present. Satan sees each of us in our entirety. There are events in our lives for which we cannot fully prepare, but Satan is ready to guide us through.
In my experience, Satan has never asked me to "have faith" in Him. Rather, He has always provided me with verification through signs, divination, and the works of other Satanic devotees. Developing psychic abilities through a divinatory practice is highly recommended if you wish to have clarity on your path. While you may not have a reliably developed extra-sensory ability yet, asking Satan for specific signs is a great way to verify His messages. For example I am not a huge believer in synchronistic numbers, but when Satan really needs my attention, the numbers 666 and 616 follow me everywhere and show up ins strange places. I usually use prayer, tarot - especially the Oracle Satanica - and bibliomancy (divination with books) to confirm Satan's messages.
As I have mentioned before, this path found me, as I never set out to become any sort of Satanist, and I know that I am not unique in that experience. When I finally met Satan, I realized that He was always with me, but I could not see Him because I was trusting the word of everyone else at face value. I believed there was no Satan, that He was merely a christian invention, and if He was real, He was simply a trickster egregore designed to scare people away from Witchcraft. Encountering Satan was revelatory, but my acceptance of that experience took some time. Satan earned my trust immediately, however, by explaining Himself to me on my terms - ways that made sense to my very polytheistic Pagan views at the time. Why then was He Satan, and not Pan, or Cernunnos, or any other Pagan deity? Why did He show up as the ultimate Adversary? These were the questions I asked myself, and their answers are ever-expanding in my practice. Satan did not hesitate to give me the answers I needed at the time, this was how He introduced Himself to me. To this day, those mysteries are my own and ground me in my knowledge - instead of getting swept up in others' beliefs.
Trust in Satan is necessary to do anything on this path. Satan does not ask you trust Him for no reason, but if you refuse to find any reason, there is no point in wasting His time and yours. There is a church on nearly every street corner which are all happy to babysit such behavior. If you walk this path and bear this Mark, you must trust Satan, as you will constantly receive messages and threats and coercions to do the opposite. Lost trust in Satan, and it all falls apart. Not everyone makes it through their tests, hence why so many people assume this path is only for the young and rebellious. I believe that reputation protects the hidden wisdom buried under the surface, and I welcome the idea that we're all hot rock stars with tragic backstories. What a powerful glamour scapegoating is when alchemized! Trust in Satan, and marvel at His plans unfolding before you! His Will is our Will.
Satan has chosen each of us for a reason. We all have something to offer. Sometimes Satan can give us a very specific assignment, but more often than not we each have a "Great Work" to complete in this incarnation. Perhaps you have a passion for helping animals or the unhoused. Maybe you have a particular talent you are meant to share with the world, such as a skill for writing or speaking. Perhaps you have artwork you've never shared. Satan will likely challenge you to get your work out in the world. It can be easy to completely isolate on this path, but we can offer strength to others like us and allow Satan's truth to reach more of His children - just be virtue of being our best selves.
As mentioned above, sometimes Satan will require the devotee to perform certain deeds. These are usually very small actions, though they are not always easy or comfortable. Often these assignments are a form of calisthenics for rebellion and subversion. It is important before doing anything that may be dangerous to verify with at least two forms of divination that you are in fact speaking with Satan. Please know that Satan and the Daemons are never going to ask you to rape or kill anyone or to hurt yourself. If you ever get a disturbing message like that, please see a mental health professional. Missions from Satan are likely to connect you with your inner child through confronting a childhood fear or aversion. For example, I've always hated churches and the sermons held in them, especially as a child. I once received an assignment from Satan to go into a Sunday service at a catholic church and retrieve holy water for the purposes of creating unholy water. While there, I was to covertly disrupt the energy of the service, as well as observe the enemy in their natural habitat. I share more about what I learned and achieved in this Patreon post for those who are curious.
Service to Satan does not always have to be grand or complex. It can start with just daily committed prayer and study. Likewise, you can dedicate a long-term project to Satan that takes learning new skills and reaching out to new people. Being in service to Satan is beneficial to the devotees as well as Satan, and should further the movement of Satanism.

Meeting Satan

I posted this video back 2024 to send to all of the people in my Instagram inbox begging to "sell their souls." My intention was deter the lazy and unserious dabblers, as this is not a path of proselytization, nor roleplay. I give some background information before disclosing how to contact Satan, which I encourage you to consider. This path can be much fun, but it is not a game.
